Metropolitan Anthony of Volokolamsk meets with the Syrian ambassador to Russia

On 22nd July at the Department for External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate there was held a meeting between the chairman of the Department for External Church Relations the metropolitan of Volokolamsk Anthony with the Syrian ambassador to Russia Bashar Al Jaafari.

Chairman of the Department for External Church Relations meets with a delegation from Lebanon

On 22nd July at the Department of External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate a meeting was held between the chairman of the DECR the metropolitan of Volokolamsk Anthony with a delegation from Lebanon headed by Mr. Sardeddin Sadr, the son of the renowned preacher, politician, religious leader, theologian and philosopher Ayatollah Seyoida Musa Sadr.

Patriarchal condolences on the death of Boris A. Nelyubov

His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus' expressed condolences on the death of Boris Aleksandrovich Nelyubov, an honorary professor of the Moscow Theological Academy and a decades-long worker of the Moscow Patriarchate’s Department for External Church Relation. He reposed in the Lord on July 12.

Churches in Europe working group of St. Petersburg Dialogue Forum meets in St. Petersburg

On 9th July, the Churches in Europe working group of the St. Petersburg Dialogue Forum held its regular meeting in St. Petersburg. Having considered the current level of cooperation within the working group, its members emphasised the importance of maintaining the existing format. They also discussed prospects of expanding cooperation with civil societies in other countries.

Metropolitan Anthony meets with executive director of Malankara Church’s Department of Ecumenical Relations

On 27th June, Metropolitan Anthony of Volokolamsk, chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate’s Department for External Church Relations, met with Rev. Ashwin Fernandes, executive director of the Department of Ecumenical Relations of the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church. The meeting, which took place at the DECR, was also attended by Hieromonk Stefan (Igumnov), DECR secretary for inter-Christian relations.

Delegation of Indian Doctors Arrives in Moscow

On June 24, a delegation of doctors fr om the St. Gregory's Hospital and International Research Oncology Center in Parumala (Kerala, India), under the auspices of the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church, arrived in Russia to hold talks on cooperation with the Central Clinical Hospital of St. Alexii, Metropolitan of Moscow, and to exchange experiences in hospital ministry.

Delegation of the Moscow Patriarchate meets with the Coptic Patriarch

Chairman of the DECR heads celebrations for the fifth anniversary of the consecration of the Church of All Saints in Strasbourg

On 26th May on the Fourth Sunday after Pascha of the Paralytic, the chairman of the Department for External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate the metropolitan of Volokolamsk Anthony, in France with the blessing of His Holiness the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill, celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the stauropegic Church of All Saints in Strasbourg. It was on the same day the fifth anniversary of the consecration of the church by the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church.

Representatives of the Russian Orthodox Church participate in international inter-religious online conference

On 22nd May an international online conference was held at the Nursultan Nazarbayev Centre for the Development of Inter-confessional and Inter-religious Dialogue. The conference was dedicated to the topic of the role of religious leaders in attaining a stable peace.

Chairman of the Department for External Church Relations visits Kykkos Monastery

On May 20, Metropolitan Anthony of Volokolamsk, chairman of Moscow Patriarchate’s Department for External Church Relations (DECR), accompanied by his deputy, archpriest Igor Yakimchuk; archpriest Pavel Povalyaev, rector of the St. Nicholas parish in Limassol; and Rev. Nikolai Vasin, secretary of the DECR chairman, visited the stauropegic Kykkos monastery in Cyprus.
